How this board is ranked

Each row is a job, not a creature and not a class. S means the action stops the documented failure, which is one dark or open entrance. A means the action restores that defense after a power cut or keeps the flashlight usable. B means recovery after a breach, a copy at the door, or a downed teammate. C and D are things players try that recorded nights do not show working as a scare-off. The letters are an editing choice from those mechanics. They are not a developer ranking.

S tier

night-priorityLook, shut, floodlightThe tutorial scare-off while house power is on: look right at the creature, shut that entrance, and turn on a floodlight. The official line is that light keeps it away, and The Locust's on-screen tip says it does not breach lit areas.

Player decision Do this the moment Opening active appears or you can see it at a door or window. A flashlight beam is not a substitute. Floodlights die with the breaker.

night-priorityRecheck every entranceThe creature opens doors and windows itself, including the upstairs main bedroom, and it does this again in the dark. One vulnerable entrance is enough.

Player decision Walk upstairs and downstairs after every scare-off and after every power restore. Do not open a window to peek or a door with it on the step.

A tier

night-priorityRestore the outside breakerHouse lights and floodlights drop together when the creature cuts the power. The working restore is to wait until it leaves, flip the outside fuses, and stop when the screen says power restored.

Player decision Learn the outdoor walk during the quiet minutes. If the prompt will not start, leave. Re-sweep entrances the moment you are back inside. Do not run this while it is still indoors.

night-priorityFlashlight batteriesThe flashlight is already in your inventory and stays dark until a battery is equipped. The meter is above the hotbar. There is no published drain time. The beam does not power floodlights, and the tutorial says the creature can see it.

Player decision Pick up spares while the house lights work. Turn the beam off when the creature is close. Quiet as a Mouse is a whole night on Normal or harder without him hearing you.

B tier

night-priorityHide or swap on a breachBreach active means the entrance is already lost and the house goes dark. Recorded recoveries are an unseen closet hide with the flashlight off, or stepping outside until the creature leaves.

Player decision Pick the closet or the swap door before the callout. The pantry is not a bunker. Snowbound Lodge has no confirmed closet. Restore power only after it is outside.

night-priorityLeave a doubtful door shutNot My Friend is catching the Skinwalker's copy before he gets in. You Let Him In is opening the door for the Skinwalker. Who's There? is opening the door when he knocks, and that badge does not name the Skinwalker.

Player decision Do not open a door to identify a voice or a copy. If the lobby says Skinwalker, treat an extra person at the door as the copy until you can see otherwise.

night-priorityRoles and the world totemA small squad that splits floors, keeps one player on the outdoor box, and leaves the first revive totem with someone who stays alive matches the recorded nights. The server cap of 30 is not a recommended party size. Full House is a crew of five.

Player decision Call the opening, not a story. Ghosts can scout and sometimes open one door. They cannot use the totem. Solo players should not expect a self-revive.

C tier

night-priorityThe 24 revive promptA purchase line says to revive all fallen teammates and buy the totem for 24. The prompt does not print a currency name. Players in those sessions called the cost Robux. A purchase is not walked through on screen.

Player decision Read your own prompt before anyone spends. Grab the free world pickup first. This is not a plan for the last living player.

D tier

night-priorityPaper ballA household object players pick up and throw. A player carried one and taunted with it. No hit on the creature is shown.

Player decision Ignore it during a siege. It is not a weapon and not a scare-off.
